That mighty rumble, purr, or deep-throated roar of your uber-sexy muscle-car-pickup-vehicle … may be being "enhanced" by sound files played through your stereo system.

On the one hand, it seems so goofy as to be laughable. It's arguably deceptive, but not in a way that affects the actual performance or mileage. And, let's face it, there's a lot, already, about vehicle design that is just "fabricating the car’s sexiness."

Still … it certainly says something about people (Americans, at least) and their cars.

  1. Yeah, I'm sorry to hear that electric cars are getting artificial sounds, though I understand why. I'd prefer if it weren't IC motor noises, though. Something different and cool would be better.
