Roofing on the roof! Siding on the side! It's all about PROGRESS!
So as I'm working at home, and needing to get on a phone call this afternoon, I suddenly discover LOUD HAMMERING on the extension that is right there, where I am on the ground floor.
So I go up stairs, only to find LOUD HAMMERING on the rooftop by the roofers.
And I consider going down to the basement, only to realize there is LOUD HAMMERING in the construction zone down there.
Sigh.
The focus today was on getting things secured for the coming snowstorm. So the roofers were roofing like mad. And the extension was wrapped, and then fascia was put up, and some siding, too.
Meanwhile, the plumber was here, both dealing with the gas line routed inside as well as to the new range space. And a step closer (sigh) to getting the sink in the garage-now-kitchen.
PROGRESS!

Glad you're making good progress, but I don't know how you can work from home!
The problem for me is not working from home. Just today, I overheard and sort of wandered into the conversation between the GC and the Plumber, which ended up with my influencing how things went with the direction of the gas line to its new location. I'm not micromanaging things, but I feel a lot more comfortable being around (or +Margie Kleerup being around) as things sort of develop and get decided on the fly.
I realize a part of that is my being something of a control freak, but in this instance I think it's in a good cause.
Also, if folk are wandering around inside of the house, I do feel a certain need for someone to be here.
You said the magic words! Now I must link this:

+Dave Hill We're going to be doing this soon. Budget permitting. Changing the garage into an "Accessory dwelling unit" (in Seattle slang).
You have inspired me to post every day.
If it actually happens.
+Paula Moore I've always been fascinated by Before & After pictures, so seeing the deconstruction and reconstruction of this stuff is really enjoyable to take pictures of. Plus I have distant relatives who would beat me with sticks if I didn't.
I look forward to seeing your project.
