One advantage of cleaning is finding new and interesting things …

As part of clearing out the Christmas boxes to reorg everything in that basement storage bay, I brought up a big Crate & Barrel box with me. That was the box for the Christmas plates and cups, I thought — but, no, that’s the Great Indoors box over there. Huh, wonder what —

Oh, it has a Christmas ornament in it. So it must be …

Well, no, unless we also decorate for Christmas with green pepper mustard.

Ah. It must have been a box of this year’s gifts brought out by Jim & Ginger when they visited for the Twelfth Night party. I left it on the kitchen counter for Margie to work on. (We continue to discover the extent to which we work well together on particular tasks. The conclusion seems to be that in a lot of things we work well where one person is In Charge and Doing Most of the Stuff, while the other person Nibbles at the Problem from the Periphery. Christmas decor, particuarly the storing away thereof, is one of the things I’m In Charge of, though I suspect that, if Margie were doing it, we’d use half the boxes. But I digress.)

Well, I was almost correct. It was a box full of Christmas doodads, either brought out by Jim & Ginger, or shipped out separately, or something.

Just from Christmas 2002.

Fortunately, it was just in time to pack away the Christmas ornaments with the rest of ’em as I put the boxes away. And I have a fun new mug to drink coffee from this morning.
