My only regrets here are that it’s only a limited edition coin. I think everyone could do with a cheerful moose looking back up at them from a pocket-full of change. Would that the US Mint were equally whimsical, some of the time.

  1. Hmmm…

I’m going to have to look at ebay after July 1 to see if any show up.

And Dave, I would have thought that trying to put Ronnie on every coin and bill in the U.S. would have been wimsy enough for you.

  2. Whimsy, not premature idolatry. Big difference.

I wouldn’t mind seeing a series of presidential quarters (or dimes, or whatever, though quarters seems to be the showcase coin of choice). I wouldn’t mind seeing more variety, a la USPS stamps.

  3. I like the state Quarters, and I wish that they put out more in year then they do.

The new Nickels with the Lewis and Clark peace medal backs are fun as well.

The Canada Mint site has some cool things as well…
…400 year anniversary of the first colony (which I guess is on the Maine/New Brunswick border), and some other cool stuff.
