So I’ve been missing big team activities. I do a little soloing these days, duoing with Margie, and attempted PUGs with various alts around the servers, but a scheduled “Let’s get together with some good players and put on a show” kind of thing just hasn’t been happening for some time (prolly since the Hostess Heroes got put back on the shelf).
So … given that this is 2xXP weekend coming up Friday … anyone interested in a get-together? Given possible server/space/level issues, Margie’s suggestion would be a “How fast can we get a group from 1 to 10?” startup on some server with space on it. Not requiring or committing to anything beyond this weekend, just a chance to get together with some friends, some known quantities, some good players, and have some kick-ass high-reward fun.
It would be nice to run a team through the Sewers (or the Hollows) (or through the Hollows after doing the Kings Row safeguard mish, so we all have a temp travel power) that was a real team, not Joe “BRB ORDERING PIZZA” and Fred “GOIN TO LVL” and Eddie “LOOK I CAN FALL DOWN AND ALMOST DIE!” and Suzy “LEEERRROOOOOYYYYY!”
All commenters welcome. Any takers? Any particular timeframe (Friday night, Saturday afternoon, Saturday night, Sunday afternoon, Sunday night)?
Being that Father’s Day is MY Day, I have a chunk of Time reserved to myself. I would be interested in a get together with peeps other than those I normally roll with, and stil keep in my age bracket. While most of my toons are on Freedom, I have some Mid twenties on Champion, and A few teens on Virtue. I would prefer heroes, but I can get villianous at the drop of a hat.
Annnnnnnnd since I didnt’ read that you wanted to start a whole new shebang… 🙂 heh… I can heartily reccomend Champion for easy load up time and such. I have 6 open slots there, and start any arch type. I’ve Been Itching to Try a Stone/Fire Tank, or / Sonic Defender. I betcha a Rad Sonic would be a mighty Debuff engine of destruction. Sigh…same time frame applies for me though.
I’d love to get some playtime in this weekend, but don’t know if it’ll be possible with the heavy schedule of beaching I have arranged. Maybe Saturday night though…
I’d rather level an existing character than make a new one, though, if only because I already have too many characters I don’t have time to play! Doyce and I have a low-level villianous pair on Virtue, the Hostess Heroes, of course, and a few others.
If I got enough heads up , I’d start a toon on a chosen server and get some levels under my belt. Virtue scares me though, as the load times are as bad as freedom, and I constantly get smacked around for breaking the “role playing” mandate there.
So no consensus on timing from the two respondants as yet. Maybe I should use survey software …
Alas, I have *no* slots free on Champion (and nobody I’m willing to offer up as sacrifice).
My preference is the Heroes side of things. I’m just a nice guy.
My main thought on going with Lvl 1s was that it starts everyone off on par, rather than “Well, I have an 14” “I have a 24 there, should I exemp, or sidekick you?” “But I have a 19” … But, then, I have alt-itis and never have problems generating new toons. 🙂
I don’t have much load problem with any of the servers. Only Champ and Virtue are full for me at the moment (and I could probably drop something on Virtue).
Besides, “What’s the Minimum Time from Coyote to Frostfire” sounds like a great challenge. 🙂

Friday is Booked … Fantastic Four and all… Saturday is My Father in Law’s shindig… leaving me with Sunday, and more than likely sunday afternoon as the only open time Ill have this weekend.
Okay — Sunday afternoon works for us. Ktbuffy? Bueller? Bueller?
Will probably still be at the Shore on Sunday afternoon, and decided not to bring down the laptop. Will try to sign in when I get home Sunday evening, though — maybe I’ll still catch you!

Or else Margie will be cooking me a massive steak and cottage potatoes. Which counts as a double-calorie weekend.

We can do that. Let me get our list of Champ and Virtue toons (and, heck, Freedom, far as that goes) and post em here this afternoon so we can figure out what we want to do, with whom.
On Champs we have a scrapper/defender duo at 23 (Araware and Fazenda).
On Virtue, I have in the teens a Emp Def (Fr. Frank, at 15) and a tank (Honor the Flag, at 18). Margie has a scrapper (Copper Mtn, at 13, 14 or so).
We also have, on Freedom, a Tank/Def combo at 28. We prolly both have some solo characters on there, but not sure of the levels.
Unless, again, we want to take something from 0, which is also good times.
On Freedom, we have mostly low (4-6) level heroes, aside from the combo described above.

Annnnnd I couldnt get on. Yay. Between my father falling down his steps on Saturday, and the Redness of the server the rest of the weekend, I was shot. I missed the FF as well. Good news is my old man (for 84) is a tough old buzzard and he’s fine.
