Got on with Psi-clone and Amorpha last night.
- Did the Level 30 costume mish. PC spent an absurd amount of money to simply take off his jacket and roll up his sleeves. I’d really love to come up with something “heroic” for him to wear, but he’s just not the Spandex type, and I’m not thrilled with the non-Spandex uniforms on him. So he’s stuck in various forms of mufti.
Margie did some stuff with Amorpha I’ll let her describe. - Amorpha dinged 35.
Psi-clone might have as well, except for getting freaking killed by a Crey attack after we got the costume mish. This despite (a) warnings by Margie not to exit Icon until after she was outside and (b) having Empathy and green chicklets out the wazoo. As I’ve said, it’s a game of mistakes. Dagnabbit. First death for him in some time.
One Crey Juggernaut we missed tracked us all the way back to the Talos train station where we were having a nice chat with Shock Therapy. We disposed of him there with no more debt. - More ambushy goodness from the CoT as we pursued some magic gewgaw or another in Brickstown. Didn’t die that time.
Hey…
Look…
I can post!
You waited this long for new costumes? Did you get Aura’s as well? Puck got an Aura just ’cause it fit in with the story at the time. Zazi…No cape…No extra title bits…no Aura. All of Zazi’s are non-spandex, but then I think that the female ‘toons get a wider verity of clothing. Though I still want the jacket with the rolled up sleeves to come with a tie like it does with the guys.
Also…Being the good person that I am. While teamed with Tsurara the other night going to a mission in Perez, I, having the Vidiot Maps, zoomed right to it. She on the other hand was wondering around lost until I went back out and got her (it was a lot like watching Scorpia in a cave 🙂 ). She was confused as to how I knew where I was going. I pointed her to the maps on Vidiot….so my good deed for the week. 🙂
P.S. Can’t wait to see Amorpha new outfit! 🙂
So…is it something Kitten would pick out for one of her ‘toons? ;P
1. PC’s had an aura for some time. Amorpha, too.
2. There is a serious paucity of non-spandex, non-B&D options for men. Anything resembling civilian clothing that is not (a) a business suit, (b) a t-shirt or tank top, or (c) a motorcycle racing outfit has to be fudged and tweaked and diddled with to make it look halfway decent, assuming you can do it at all. Collared shirt of any kind that doesn’t have a jacket over it? Fuggeddaboutit.
The “uniform” jacket has been okay for faking a leather jacket or a vest, but only not great (ironically, it’s pretty sucky as a uniform).
As to Vidiot Maps — yikes. I’ve had them for the vast majority of my CoH career, and so simply “assume” that others do, too.
Lastly…
…The funnest comment of the night.
[Healing Rayne] ((Wow. I should really read the things you PM me.))
Second funniest…
[Darkthorne] OOC: Hey, I’ve been doing interviews since before you were in the Phalanx. heh.
[Puck Bunny] ((Oh…is that why you wanted to invite him in without the whole OOC spiel and telling him he needed to fill out his in-came bio?))
[Darkthorne] OOC: C###, So it’s been awhile. heh.
On the vidiot maps thing….yeah me too.
I was laughing when she said “It’s got all the stores too?!?”
I believe I5’s maps will include stores — just no indication of which stores they are.
Which is, frankly, stupid:
1. There are no Yellow Pages or 411 (or Google Maps) in the CoHverse?
2. There are no civilians you can ask on the streets?
3. We have the world’s most sophisticated comm units with us, and we can’t find a frickin’ map? City Hall requires we coordinate security level increases with certain heroes, but won’t tell us where they are?
Zones are difficult enough when you first enter them as a lower-level. Not being able to find key landmarks doesn’t add to story, it just makes it more irksome.
Also…
It is sad when you have to add a new interview Macro asking the question:
“If you knew of a hero that had killed someone, or tortured a villain that had surrenered to them, what would you do?”
One of these days I’d love to be a fly on the wall during an interview, see how you cool kids do it. I think my induction into the Storm Knights was basically Noelle asking Streak, “So, uh, is that offer to join you guys still good?” and being invited.
But that was ages and ages ago…
Puck *laughs*….Cool kids…next thing you know I’ll be accused of being part of the 45+ clique again. 🙂
Anyways, the interviews are open to all. Sometimes we get lots of folks…some times we get nobody….and some times we get Reese.
On the occasions when I do a full-blown IC interview, I usually go through standard job interview type questions.
… tell me about yourself.
… what are your long-term goals?
… why did you choose the Consortium to apply to?
… why should the Consortium invest in you?
Then I do my little Consortium sales job, then, assuming all is well, I do the /sginvite.
More often it’s a bit looser than that, sometimes a lot looser. Since we’re a lot more alt-ish, and most applicants are players I already know, it may be as simple as:
/tell applicant, The Consortium was founded as a …
/em lecture
/tell applicant, … and so I am pleased to invite you to our group.
/sginvite applicant
Wow. Lots of different things to vomment on here. Fortunately I have time while downloading I5 at 43.6 KB/sec. :p
Avocet’s aura is blue sparkles around his hands, as he fires blue bolts from them. Unfortunately, perma-Hasten completely pbscures his Aura.
I just did the mission for the 4th costume slot, but didn’t get the costume yet. Now Serge must give it to me for free! Mwah-ha-hah! (Might look into a new Aura while I’m at it. Oh, and most of you will *never* see the new costume, so don’t ask!)
The short time I spent in the training room was enough to see a generic store icon for Serafina. ((Serafina… >sigh
(“Vomment”? Ugh. Usually I proofread these things, but I5 had finished installing…)
Well, the new generic store symbols were plopped down right on top of the nice icons on my vidiot maps, so I reinstalled the vidiots. Same thing. So did I just re-install the vidiot maps wrong (multiple times), or are the symbols and/or maps being handled in a special way in I5 so that they overwrite the cool maps?
That’s really disappointing to hear. The new Store stuff on the maps is an overlay, so you can click on them (like other objects) and get directions. And, unfortunately, you can’t turn those objects off in the Options screen (again, stupid).
Hrm.
