Croatoa Woa

Continued this evening with Velvet and P-siren, since we’d been doing well last night.
Beat up lots of pumpkinheads and not-really-wolves. Never too much of a problem unless I got more than, say, twenty of the Fir Bolg around me (given that my Resist Elements is pretty crapola right now).
Eventually got a Keen Temporary Power, the Rune of something-or-another, which basically zaps Fay for big damage. Kind of weird having Velvet as a blaster, but useful.
Then we got sent on the Mission from Hell. Or Faerie. Guard the Dolmen. Keep the Fir Bolg from slipping through it, which they are bound-and-determined, Taunt or PunchVoke or no, to do, doing little mini-wave attacks/samba lines on their way. We did pretty good for a while, but eventually they started coming from different directions and we had to pull back to where it was nigh-impossible to distract them from their cause.
Annoyingly, it can be up to 5-7 minutes between waves (based on my Dull Pain perma). Irksome.
Evidently the story line dead-ends there if you can’t beat it until you level beyond it (based on Amorpha’s experience). Before we do it again, we’ll be bringing in a few friends.
PS dinged 29. I’m about two pips from it. Yay.
I’d put it to bed for a week or so, just to wash the taste of the failed mish from my mouth. But with the Rune of whozits in my hand, it’s like having the Lollypop … you can’t stop playing until it’s gone.

  1. I can see that I am going to have to spend some time running the Bas’ through there. Sounds like a lot of fun.

  2. It’s a fun zone, no doubt. And, fortunately, it has a walk-up-to contact that will get you started on the stories there (Gordon whozits over at the University).
I’m waiting for the “bad guys that actually fight each other, dammit” stuff to migrate into the other zones.

  3. Oh!
    They are…they really are!
Rayne and I saw it last night while I was helping him out with a couple of missions in Striga.
We were hunting Council in the base when a Raider skiff came in and started blasting them.
It was the oddest thing, because I had them (council doing katas) held and was very confused by the sound of gunfire and all the grey -10’s rolling off of them. THis was when Rayne said…”Quick get them before the Skiff finishes them all off!”
I was laughing so hard I kinda forgot what I was doing.

  4. Hmmmm. I remember the Striga Council/Raiders being in battle, but I don’t recall whether they actually hurt each other before. If not, then serious coolness.
I look forward to seeing more of those “The X are fighting the Y — you have to stop them!” mishes having them actually fighting, like last night.
Oh, got some wave attacks last night, too. Cool stuff (esp. when you can get conflicting enemies to wave into each other …)

  5. Oh….forgot a serious bit of coolness from this weekend.
Hythian in one of their Alts help Puck get the Spelunker badge for the accolade power (*glee* and thank you again very much! 🙂
But the Dev’s changed it around a bit now. You have to escort her out to the entrance now, and they changed the NPC ‘toon as well. That was my first hostage escort mission and I want more.
