Nice get-together — 5:30p to 1:00a or so — for the Sara Moore TF. It was my introduction to the Shadow Shards and all the wackiness there.
Solid group — Psi-clone, Amorpha, Hyperthermian, Kinetica, Zepher-Storm, Puck Bunny, Shock.Therapy, and Li Nakamura. Had run with all of them previously except Li, and everyone was on their game. It was a Controller/Defender-heavy group (and a couple of the Controllers were Empathy secondary), so lots of buffs and heals, which worked out well. Indeed, only one Scrapper and one Tank.
Died twice, I think, and narrowly dodged the bullet (so to speak) several other times. Most folks took at least one face plant — Amorpha had three or four, I think — just due to the heavy firepower of Nemesis and Rularuishy things. But no chronic problems or intrinsic flaws in the group. Like I said, solid.
For myself, I thought I was able to serve quite well as a healer (including a number of Rezzes), while also getting my holds and pets into play. Plenty of excitement for everyone; we were all contributing members of the team.
And, for the record, the final mish was a lot spookier than I would have thought, and actually ended a lot more quickly than I’d expected once the AV was engaged.
A bunch of us did a Shard TF the night before. 25 missions, straight through. Start time of 8:00 PM PST. Finished at 4:13 AM. By the 6-hour mark, all the players were desperate to finish it. Keen Edge tried to leave the TF several times, but always came back because he didn’t want to have to do it all over again on another occasion. Dark Scorpia was pondering doing it with her other characters. Glad I have only one hero!
I think what bothered us the most was the redundancy of the missions. You can only do so many consecutive “activate all four computers simultaneously” missions before you’re sick of them. Also, the whole bit of running from the Shard to Paragon for one mission, then back to the Shard, then back to Paragon, was quite annoying. Lousy way to end a grueling TF. I see why Callypsa’s player *hates* this TF. I do too, now.
Although, really, the team was very effective! I blundered a few times near the beginning, but they were good at keeping my mistakes from hurting anyone else, and at bolstering my confidence. It would have been a lot of fun if it had been a little shorter. Okay, maybe a lot shorter. And we did get a shiny new “Portal Smasher” badge. I see Sara Moore is next on the list of badges. Let’s hope they made that one a little more fun.
We did this one tonight, with a team of six. Got the AV down to below 50% when our tanks dropped. Most of the party got wiped. Avo escaped, waited for the Scrapper to move in, and started blasting from the tunnel. Eventually the AV moved into the tunnel and started hitting Avo for 882.6 per shot. Stopped hitting him after two shots!
We regrouped, and coordinated the powers of the Scrapper and two Tanks, and ran Ruladak into the ground with only two more casualties. Much smoother than we expected, given the dearth of healers on our team.
Oh, and Avo dinged 49! 🙂
