  • RT @Kyrion: 65 years ago today, the largest amphibious invasion ever began. Remember the Allied soldiers who went ashore at Normandy. #

  1. I guess you mean exciting in the “Huh, how fast can I run?” sense of the word.

Yet another reason for the great propane tank grab last fall. Which reminds me, I need to find an electric grill.

  2. Still prefer propane — and the equipment (both the pressure release valve and the extinguisher) did their jobs. And, of course, electricity can be problematic, too.

  3. Well, I kind of have to since tanks over the camp stove size (1# I think)are banned for multi-family dwellings, after several of the blew up around the country and one here in Boulder last year….and if I actually want to grill (and I hate the charcoal ones) tasty meats and veggies this summer I will have to go the electric route. :/

  4. Let’s just say it doesn’t always work out so well.

The neighbors on the corner were boiling corn on a propane stove on their patio when a small fire started. The stove fell over, the regulator failed and a small boom ensued (bigger than a car backfiring, smaller that the Death Star). With gas under pressure and the tank on fire, the flames lit part of the house on fire (the area near small window next to the sliding door). The smoke filled both their house and the neighbor’s where they share a common wall. Luckily the Fire Dept. got things under control, but both families have moved out for cleaning and construction for the next two months.

I think it’s time to have my fire extinguisher re-charged.
