Links (most recent first) that caught my eye, but did not warrant full-blown blog entries ….
- Man Already Knows Everything He Needs To Know About Muslims | The Onion – America’s Finest News Source – I hate it when the Onion is indistinguishable from the real news.
- Distracting wrist band toys banned from classrooms | band, toys, seven – Education – Colorado Springs Gazette, CO – Oh, for heaven’s sake. There are ways to deal with kids getting distracted that are a bit more constructive than simply banning things they are being distracted by.
- The Idiom Connection – Fun resource on English (US, mostly) idioms.
- Thoughts From Glenn on Church Plan to Burn Koran | The Blaze – Aside from the fallacious Park51 equivalency, Beck very nearly makes sense here.
- Pastor Has Novel Response: Read the Qur’an Day | Religion Dispatches – An excellent idea. Before you accept, or reject, something, one really ought to get to know it. And even if you’re not interested in converting to Islam, it’s worth getting a little direct exposure to it, simply to understand a bit more directly (unfiltered by others) what over a billion people on the planet profess belief in.
- Comcast improves customer experience with mobile services – Not to be a flack for Comcast by any means, but adding mobile services seems like a clever idea. There are times I’d love to be able to to set my home DVR while someplace else.
- The Ghosts of the Blitz – Very cool superimposition of London pix from the Blitz over the same streets today.
- Consumer Reports Readers Rate The Best Burgers – Yahoo! Shopping
- Alcohol Is Healthy – Well, moderate amounts thereof. To your health!

2. I was often distracted by my thoughts in class. Solution: ban thought in classrooms! Heck, most kids are halfway there now.
6. I successfully programmed my DVR from my computer last week. Saved me a trip downstairs. 🙂
