Blaming others for one's misdeeds (GOP 2012 Edition)

It will be fascinating to watch the GOP blame Obama for not being "post-partisan" and healing the nation and bringing everyone together in Washington to find common answers for our various challengers … when he's (a) been opposed tooth-and-nail by GOP leaders who very baldly stated that their number one job was to block his agenda and keep him from being re-elected, and (b) has governed as someone whose policies were straight out of the Republican Party … as it existed, oh, a decade or two ago.

I may disagree with Obama on a number of things (most of which fall under (b) above), but blaming him for the partisan gridlock of DC is one of the most laughable things I can imagine the GOP running on with a straight face. #ddtb

Campaigning in Iowa today, Mitt Romney took a relatively new tack in going after President Obama, characterizing the president as having promised to be a savior to the entire planet….

  1. I have a serious dislike for much of what passes for policy (social, economic) from the Republicans these days, and I find the way they have governed (or obstructed governance) for the last several years, and for their governance the previous eight. I have plenty of criticisms for the Dems, too, which I'm sure we'll get to when the campaign kicks off in earnest.

  2. Thanks. If I had to choose between the two parties (as we are too often forced to do), I'd have to choose the Democrats over the Republicans. But I'm not blind to the flaws in both parties (separately and in common), or the various individuals and strains of thoughts within both parties, either.

  3. While I can't say I always agree with you, I can understand your position. I was just curious as to whether you were a 'party man' (as in one party=good, the other=evil) or not.

Not that it makes a big difference, I still like to see your opinions as they always seem to be well thought out.
