The good news, per Averdata: Nobody reads me, so, yes, “the bandwidth usage of your site is low.”
The bad news, per Averdata: Their logs still indicate that “the server load caused by your site is very uneven and very high at times. It could be due to a poorly written script which draws a lot of server resource when being executed.”
I’ve pinged for any other data (Any identifier on the process, either process name or invoker? Any dates/times of these spikes which they can give me?), but things are looking grim for Our Hero.
The irritating thing is (well, irritating beyond the previously mentioned irritations on this thread), if what they say is correct, moving to another host will not only be an annoyance, but won’t resolve the problem.
Given that the only scripts I can think of on this site which are in use are DotComment PHP scripts, tweaked only to add some Cascading Style Sheet tags, I’m seriously confused.
