We started off, here in Denver, with TCI Cable, the largest cable company in the US. (Denver is a major telenetworking hub, business- and technology-wise, though many folks don’t know that.)

A few years ago, TCI sold out to AT&T, to become AT&T Broadband, that company’s attempt to lock up the entertainment and broadband market. AT&T handled it with their usual efficiency, and is now looking to rid themselves of the whole thing.

Oh, joy. I have Microsoft Cable or AOL Cable to look forward to.

On the other hand, if either of them is willing to give me cable modem connectivity, I’d consider tatooing their logo on my forehead …

  1. Yeah, and a few years after you get service, that company will get eaten, and they will make you jump through all sorts of hoops on particular days and take away all but one of your email addresses for ‘about’ two weeks and wonder why you are pissed because you give them almost 700.00 a year for sevice and they can’t maintain that service while they transition…. and they do it just afer the holiday stress fest.

Southeast Michigan: Media One was eaten by Comcast. Comcast sucks anyway, as I remember from my days of Cable in Detroit…. and now I am stuck with them…

my favorite part of all this? their tag line on all correspondence, email and otherwise: “Thank you for chosing Comcast” Choice? I have a choice? Ha. Not that I know of.

    Rant rant rant….
