I would talk more about what Life with Katherine is like, but James Lileks does such a good job of it, I don’t have to.

You’ve probably heard it a million times, and those who haven’t done the toddler thing will never understand it, and those who have don’t need to hear it, but … as annoying and aggravating and irksome and troublesome and just-when-you’re-sitting-down-wanting-something-ish as Life with Katherine can be, when she smiles that little smile, when she laughs, when she giggles and says, “Da-da!” — it’s all worth it. All of it. Dirty diapers, screaming at 4 in the morning, interrupted TV shows and all. No question.

Maybe this is just some genetic hard-wiring, but it so, it’s good stuff, and it feels good.
