After visiting a largely federally-funded Portland job training center in January, and getting photos taken and shaking hands and hearing stirring stories and all that, the President praised the work being done there. “I went by and saw the good instructors there that are trying to help people help themselves.”
Which, of course, explains why 80% of the center’s funding (and funding for similar centers) is chopped in the President’s proposed budget, less than a month later.
