** A pity Moulin Rouge gets disqualified here.
I guess you can tell what movies I’ve seen this year.
As much as I dearly loved LotR, I have to day that Moulin Rouge deserves to win most of the places they go head-to-head. Incredible movie.
Still, for how few movies we’ve been to, I’ve seen so many nominee/categories. “My” stuff is usually too mainstream or too genre to qualify.

I thought the effects in Harry Potter were very bad. The CGI in the Quiddich match was just awful.
Really? I thought they were really pretty good. The movie wasn’t bad — it just lacked the soul that LotR (or Moulin Rouge, for that matter) had.
I saw Moulin Rouge in the theater and was greatly impressed, saw it on video and nearly cried with disappointment. It was like watching a circus on TV…good if that’s what you can get.
Doyce, after watching it on a business trip, brought the DVD over to our house that weekend and demanded we watch it right there and then. I’m sure in the theater it was even more incredible, but, as it was, it was amazing.
