Figured out how to make MT do a little “list of most recent post comments,” complete with dates/authors, which I am now (at least for the moment) putting at the top of the Blog. That should be handy for me to see where comments have come in, and handy for commenters to see where their comments have been followed up on.
{Pats self on back.} The old guy’s still got it …
Code available on request, natch.
Have another pat on the back from me, it’s a great idea, not to mention a cool implementation.
Well, I can’t take credit for the idea, which I’ve seen on other blogs, but I don’t think I’ve seen anyone else pad it out this much (with the title, last author and time).
One of the biggest problems with comments in a blog is that the quoted post tends to drift off the page after two, three, four days, and it’s too easy for a response to never get read. In some ways, this makes the blog function as a pseudo-bulletin board, as the most recent posts commented on (seven of them) will remain “up”.
I’ll see how it works.
bleh.
hate it.
one voice, one vote.
Counted.
(Though I found you’d made the comment via the tool in question.)
Ideally, it should be off in the sidebar. Problem is, some of the title lines are a bit long. I’ll play with it, though.
