A civilian with singular talents is recruited for a covert mission by a secretive government agency …
Sound familiar? That was more or less the synopsis of no fewer than four film trailers we saw last night, before the movie: The Sum of All Fears, XXX, Men in Black II, Bad Company.
How many times do you want see someone walking across the CIA logo embedded on the floor? We got to see it twice, for two different films.
Not that I think any of these films copied each other. It was just an interesting … um, coincidence.
Two of the trailers also had a the hero with one or more beautiful women and the line “No limit to what I’ll do for my country”.
Ah. The amazing creativity of Hollywood. No wonder they want to impose digital rights management on anything. Imagine if anyone could copy whatever they wanted!
