All new! All different!

Well, not really. Same design, different style sheet and header. Comments, as always, welcome….

  1. This is quite a nice change. I love the red, but the grey labels in the comment area (your name, your email, that sort of thing) are a little dark against the red.

    Otherwise, nice work.

  2. Yeah, I was aware of the grey-on-black problems. On the list of Things to Fix.

I’ll miss Venus, but I’ve got a list of quite a few other Cool Pieces of Art to throw into the header … and before that, I have to get sick of the Head Shots.

  3. Well I was hoping it would fill you with horrible envy that you were stuck out in the wilds of South Dakota while I was lounging about the pool, sipping daiquiris and redesigning my web page …

You could , though, almost certainly come up with a design that incorporated the grouchy bear and still break out of the three-column sky-blue-beige-and-white design you’ve sported for a while. I have a lot of faith in your design abilities.

Of course, I’m a heck of a lot more interested in content than format (as both my own pages and a lot of the folks on the link list demonstrate).

    Oh, and thanks.

  4. Not too shabby. I like the “*** Dave through the ages” at the top there.

And I was wondering, where did you get those little dingbats you use for post links? Me likey very much. Me want to steal.

And be on the look-out for Gozerian 2.0, as I am redesigning as well.

  5. That’s me — trendsetter to the Web …

I have one other scanned picture from somewhere between the first and second that I didn’t include. I might throw it in there this weekend, if I can find it again.

As to the dingbats, I went out Googling for “mini-icons.” I took some I found and tweaked them to greater or lesser degrees (and made up a couple of them, too). If you like them, g’head.

  6. looks good. no critical comments this trip. (and that is a surprise! I usually am the one crying about the contrast… this seems comfortable to me)

  7. Pleased to hear it.

As a interesting side note, the color combos usually end up getting tested on three separate platforms — my CRT at work, my rather dim LCD screen on my notebook, and the more vivid, well-lit LCD on Margie’s home system. I’m sometimes amazed by difference in hue and contrast between those. (Angle, on an LCD, can also make a huge difference.)
