Is it a good sign or a bad sign that Katherine claps her hands and says “Yay!” when the main titles for Star Trek (TOS, natch) comes on?
The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree
Is it a good sign or a bad sign that Katherine claps her hands and says “Yay!” when the main titles for Star Trek (TOS, natch) comes on?…
My vote: Good.
Hook ’em young, I always say.
Good…….and be glad she does…..otherwise there’d be hell to pay whenever you wanted to interrupt Blue’s Clues for ST.
I’m afraid her geekiness doesn’t extend that far.
Dave, it sounds like you’ve raised her correctly. All three of mine have been trained since infancy in the ways of Star Trek, and I’m now rewarded with boys who make the bridge of a starship out of my couch and a little girl who insists that dancing to each Star Trek theme (we’re particularly fond of DS9 around here, but we’ll take it from any series) is the right thing to do.
Of course it’s good.
Just like it’s good that my son yells “Frak” whenever TNG comes on. You see, we were teaching him how to say Mr. Frakes in preparation for meeting him at GenCon (which sadly turned out to be for naught)
He also used to dance to the “battle music” from TOS when he was younger.
I’m not sure how you’d dance to the DS9 theme (though it was one of my faves before they “jazzed it up” later on — sort of the story of the whole series, as far as I’m concerned, but don’t get me started).
My friend’s 3 year old likes to yell “Yay! Buffy!” when the vampire slayer comes on. I should probably go over and show him some star trek just to make sure he gets all the bases covered.
Absolutely. Lopsided geekiness is even more pathetic …
(Of course, I’m not 100% sanguine, so to speak, about 3-year-olds watching Buffy, either, but that’s a different post …)
