I got 21 right before those non-Mediterranean African nations and those ex-Soviet republics started screwing me up.

Ye gods, I love the Internet.
I did okay until Bahrain — I swore I knew where it was but it was hard to tell if it was shaded or not.
Somehow I got the former Soviet Republics right; very weird that I’d remember that one.
Kicked butt right up until the the former soviet countries (Tajikstan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan).
Life was so much simpler, geographically, a hundred years ago. Or even fifty.
…or even 10…
Simple geography equals complex politics and vice versa. We are still paying for the European empires.
One side note from when I was kid collecting stamps, Qatar had the coolest stamps. I liked their Apollo moonshot ones. Now I know where they are and how to pronounce the name of the country.
