Give this a few months to drop in price get fully into the channel, and I might have a new Palm come the new FY Autumn….
I’ve decided I don’t need that much palm — or I don’t need to spend that much cash… something like that.
On the other hand, I really like the feature set for the new Zire 71.
Hmm. Comparing the two …
TC has 64Mb vs Z71’s 16Mb. Well, I get by on 16 right now, but …
TC is 1 oz. heavier, 0.2″ longer, 0.3″ wider, but the same depth.
TC has a keyboard, though it can also (as I understand it) take Grafiti. The Z71 is stylus only. If the TC keyboard is as good as the Blackberry, that would be keen.
TC has a 400MHz Intel processor, vs the Z71’s 144MHz TI. Processing speed is definitely a good thing, I’ve found.
TC has WiFi. Z71 has a camera. I’d rather have the former.
On the other hand, I don’t really need wireless e-mail. I’d just like wireless hotsyncing and in extremis e-mail/browsing capability.
I don’t know that I could justify the TC cost right now, but give it 6 months …
