The Fountain of Mystery!Margie has long wanted a water feature of some sort in the yard. Me, I’d build a brand new yard just for this one.

A set of four glass ramps positioned in a square clearly show water travelling up each of them before it pours off the top, only to start again at the bottom of the next ramp.
[…] Mr Dyson says his inspiration was a drawing by the Dutch artist MC Escher (he of Gothic palaces where soldiers are eternally walking upstairs, and of patterns where birds turn into fish).
“One of these is an optical illusion that shows water going uphill and round and round the four sides of a square perpetually,” he says. “I wanted to create a series of cascades that are all on the same level – an everlasting waterfall.”

It’s all trickery, of course, but still very, very cool.

  1. This is too cool!

If I had a garden in a place that didn’t freeze…this is something that I would want to mess with people walking through the garden.
