Star treatment

As a kid, I had a crush on child star Pamelyn Ferdin. How terribly disappointing it would be if it turned out she was really a terrorist. Well, no,…

Pamelyn in a distinguished role on one of the worst ST:TOS eps ever, costarring Melvin Belli!
As a kid, I had a crush on child star Pamelyn Ferdin. How terribly disappointing it would be if it turned out she was really a terrorist.

Well, no, it doesn’t look like she is a terrorist, just the victim of some overzealous anti-terrorist police investigators, concerned about some of her (legal) activities as a member of the Animal Defense League of Los Angeles.

Whew.

(Though it was interesting to learn that she was the only the only co-star ever to kill Clint Eastwood (in The Beguiled). Hmmmmm.)

  1. I remember her from that Trek — that was the one where the kids were creepy and worshipped that spirit, right?

Interesting. John Miller sounds like he needs to get his head out of his ass.

And it IS cool that she’s the only one who has every killed Clint Eastwood.

  2. Yup.

    Hail, hail, fire and snow,
Call the Angel, we will go
    Far away, far to see,
    Friendly angel come to me.

A great exemplar of everything that was wrong with season 3.

She was in any number of other shows in the 60s-70s (and did the voice of Lucy in many of the early Peanuts cartoons).

  3. Whew! I’m not the only one who thought she was dang cute! I didn’t realize that was also her in Space Academy, though! Good to know my crushes were really just one crush. 😉

  4. Oh, man — you never forget the first “star” you fell in love with. Given that she was about the same age as I was (and, I suppose, still is) just made her all the more appealing.

  5. Yeah, I found her website a couple years back. From the guest book, it looks like every guy my age had a crush on Pamelyn back in the early 70s. It was on The Curiosity Shop I first saw her, and I was completely smitten.

  6. I remember her from the Saturday morning television program back in the very early 70’s called The Curiosity Shop. I though she was hot, even though, I was like six, maybe…..I distinctly remember her singing a song on that show: “I Believe In Music”……which was a popular song from that time, I believe. Might have even been a Paul Williams written song. Anyway…..just an old fond memory of mine.
