Oh, yeah, I was doing good. Kitten had waited until 7:30a to wake up, and I’d done zero-to-sixty when she came into our room, telling her not to wake up Mommy and getting her downstairs.
There I’d gotten her esconced playing with her “babies,” and my blurry vision was beginning to clear, so that I could see what was going on, but I had everything under control.
And there I was making myself coffee, not because I needed to, but because I wanted some. Yeah, I was functioning pretty damned well.
That’s when I put the first spoon of coffee into the coffee machine reservoir.
EWWWWW!
See, now, to somebody who doesn’t drink coffee, and has never used a coffee machine, this just elicits an “Um, okay. So?” response. I’m assuming that the reservoir is not for coffee, but so what if a spoonful gets in there? Why is that grossing dust out?
The reservoir is where the water is poured, whence it runs past the heating element and is dripped onto the coffee grounds. Putting the grounds into the reservoir isn’t exactly gross, but it’s messy (and not good for the coffee maker).
