I’m not quite sure why or how, but Katherine has decided that the theme to the Justice League makes for a fine lullaby. Not just singing the music, mind you, but with Daddy acting out the various characters, and shouting out their names at the appropriate points.
Well, yeah, I guess it would be entertaining.
Our nightly ritual is a book called “Diary of a Worm”. I bought it after hearing about it on NPR. Young Miss Laura likes it so much we must read it every night. Some nights we get to skip the “sidebars” (she wants all the little sub-dialog and writing read), but usually she wants the whole deal.
Good book, though!
“Yertle the Turtle” is a current favorite. We usually get a long story, a short story (both of which are subject to revocation if dawdling occurs), then prayer and lullaby. Current lullaby faves (the one above notwithstanding) are teh Brahms Lullaby (“Lullaby and good-night”) and “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star.”
One of these nights, she’s going to get the now-written-down Shishiko story. It’s just been a busy week so far.
