I know there are any number of adults out there who think Spongebob Squarepants is the greatest thing since Rocky & Bullwinkle — or at least since Beavis and Butthead (a much better comparison), but I’ve just never really “gotten it.”
It’s not clear whether Lileks does or not, but he sure has “that screeching Nickelodeon” channel nailed accurately.

You’re right, he totally nailed it. This is why we watch Noggin instead. All the better Nick preschool shows sans epilepsy inducing commercials.
Yup. Noggin is good, or the various Disney channels (which have minimal commercial content, and most of that is for Disney media stuff). Some PBS. Cartoon Network, sometimes (though some of the selections there are pretty much automatic channel-changers).
