Devious worldwide mainstream media conspiracy? Mere coincidence? Or just a few photogs trying to be artsy-fartsy? You decide.
These are just a few of the many photographs mainstream media has been deliberately releasing to the public showing our world leaders with halos. I’d say with the shape our world is in right now, they should have horns instead of halos.
Well, I’m not sure that a picture of some, shot from below, with klieg lights over his head, counts as a “halo.” And given that the EU flag features a circle of stars, it’s way too easy to either inadvertently get someone’s head “haloed” by it, or else do so intentionally as a framing device.
And the picture of Putin just looks like someone forgot the old “never let a telephone pole grow out of your subject’s head” rule.
Given the zillions of photos that AP and Reuters issues ever day of these guys, I’d expect angelic iconography to be a lot better than this.
Of course, the home page of the site has some equally, um, interesting spins on world and national affairs.

Yeah, they’re really nuts. Even I won’t go as far as they do on some things.
Good Lord — they must be completely bonkers, then. 🙂
Actually, now that I look at him, Putin looks like he’s celebrating Santa Lucia Day.
On what side does the beret slope down over a soldier’s head? Sounds like an odd question, but one of the questions asks why are US soldiers wearing backwards flags.
My simple answer: the picture was flipped horizontally before printing or posting.
Hell, I do it all the time to make my belly look smaller.
That was my first thought, too. Didn’t worry about it enough to look up the answer, though.
Make that a Putin really unhappy about being forced to celebrate Santa Lucia Day, probably at some diplomatic function where the Swedish ambassador, tipsy on aqvavit, put the little candle crown on his head and starting singing the Santa Lucia song.
The more I see that picture, the more I love it.
“Twenty years ago I could have had him shot. I miss those days …”
