… as I natter about various SF/Fantasy media stuff. Farscape is coming back as a miniseries on SciFi later this year.
SCI FI announced it will be bringing back Farscape with an all-new miniseries — called Farscape: Peacekeeper War — slated to air in the fourth quarter of this year. The four-hour miniseries picks up where the cliffhanger series finale left off and will reunite John Crichton (Ben Browder), Aeryn Sun (Claudia Black) and the rest of the Moya crew.
Huh.
To be honest, as torqued as I was about Farscape getting torpedoed when it happened, I was immediately swept away by the (superior, to my mind) Firefly … and, of course, then immediately crushed. Only room for one love in my life, I suppose.
Ah, well.
When they do this, I hope they’ll rerun the final season shows, since I missed a few during their post-cancellation on-agani-off-again scheduling.
This has been known since about…last november when they went in to pre-production. They finished up in early march so it’s in post now. They just “officially” announced it though. We didn’t know WHERE it would play until a few days ago.
And they are replaying season 4 now. I don’t know the schedule I just have TiVO set to record them and like every once in a while 3 or 4 will show up on my menu. They must be showing a few a week back to back. But they’re season 4.
It was a great season.
I suppose I need to start paying attention to SciFi again.

Yes TiVO!…..i really haven’t watched SciFi since Farscape ended.
I think they were bought by NBC dduring that time and maybe it’s finally starting to show because they’re actually starting to play “science fiction” again.
I may go back to it, we’ll see. MWA HA HA HA
In the mean time what we need is a REAL Genre network like Space in Canada that will play all the Whedon shows and Farscape and stuff that gets cancelled all the time.

I actually preferred Farscape to Firefly (though I like them both) and could not be happier…unless they were to run another full season. I doubt they will go beyond the mini-series though as the story was pretty much beginning to play out.
