Played my first session of Sorcerer last night, courtesy of Doyce (write there to follow, no doubt). As a highly narrative system, it’s perhaps not surprising that the mechanics didn’t stand out overly in my mind. The general setting (sorcery = binding of demons, with the inevitable conflicts, costs, and challenge to one’s humanity) is a good one, and the opportunity for the players to be jointly screwed by both the GM and themselves is tremendous fun.
My own character — Ken Osato, suspiciously successful programmer/entrepreneur with the rat-bastard Type A father who actually got him into the sorcery biz in the first place — was confronted (by my own doing) with my dad dying on my doorstep, a place he oughtn’t to have been. Over the course of the evening, Ken got to be snarky to the 911 operator, unfeeling to the cops, and alternately solicitous and irksome to his two younger sisters.
Oh, yeah, and be tempted to try to bind the amulet demon that Dad had on him for my own purposes, some of which include whether or not to contest my uncle’s inevitable attempt to take over Dad’s company.
There are various dire ways that this could be tied into Randy and Jackie’s storyline. We’ll see which one Doyce chooses (inevitably the most interesting and discomfitting).

I need to investigate this one some day; it has an appeal to me.
It is well-worth investigating. It has a solid, unobtrusive, playable mechanic.
