Like Les, I’ve been trying out the MTClient front-end to MT. A new version is now available. I’m pretty happy with it, and look forward to the 2.0 upgrade, too.
If MTClient isn’t for you, SharpMT is another good desktop client. I’m not sure I can articulate why I’m preferring the former to the latter at the moment, but either is much better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick (or having your web form mysteriously vanish).
No, wait, I haven’t looked at the most recent upgrades to SharpMT. Drat. Let me get back to you …
UPDATE: Okay, having odd problems with the latest SharpMT being unable to connect to my blog. Which it used to be able to do. Not sure if it requires a reboot or what, but that will have to wait.
Don’t forget to mention ecto in the line-up for Mac users. It’s a great desktop client (I’m currently trying it out) that has a lot of possibilities.
I wouldn’t know from Mac clients, though I know there are some nice ones out there.
Coincidentally, it was announced today there will be a Windows version of ecto (a port of the TypeWriter client).
