A straight period adaptation of The War of the Worlds has finished filming (in, as one can imagine, high secrecy) and is set to be released in 2005, beating out the (updated) Spielberg/Cruise version. Neat.
Of course, it might also be an awful movie, but I’m glad someone at least considered doing the “authentic” setting for the tale. And the trailer for the other flick they have coming out, Chrome, looks moderately interesting.
