Twenty-four hours from now, I’ll be furiously typing on my first half-hour of the Blogathon. W007!
I currently remain at 10 verified pledges for $377 for my cause, the Electronic Frontier Foundation. That’s spiffy, and thanks, you guys. It works out to about $15.70/hr, or about $7.70 per official post. Not bad at all. Pledges can still be made — indeed, they can be made all the way through the ‘Thon, so if you’re still on the fence, swing on by and see how
I’m doing tomorrow.
And for those who have forgotten, I’ll be blogging about comic books — mostly reviews, but mostly blathering on about comics, the industry, my likes and dislikes, and all that kind of stuff. It may not be as thematically sound as my previous efforts on behalf of the CBLDF (I’ll be talking about them, too), but hopefully it will be fun in and of itself.
I do hope people will make a point to come by and read here, and at least drop off a comment. I’m not big into all the “Blogathon IRC Chat” and the like. Most of my contact with the outside world will be via the Comments here — so comment, baby, comment!
I’ve been trying this week to get a bit of extra sleep. Haven’t been terribly successful, but I think I’ll be okay. Margie’s bought me a 12-pack of Coke Zero and various munchies for the effort, and I’m sure she’ll make sure I’m eat good in addition to well.
This afternoon I’ll be getting my work area set up — cleaning up the table, getting my review comics stacked up and sorted, all that good stuff. I have a couple of CDs to pull into my PC, as I’ll be hitting the music pretty hard, too. I still want to set up a new review template, too, but that may or may not happen.
I’m both excited and apprehensive. I know I can do it — now I just have to get it done.
Should be fun.
Good luck, and have fun! I’ll be looking forward to reading the results!
And I do plan on sponsoring you — my wallet’s just too darn far away at the moment…
I do hope you’re going to comment on the whole “Civil War” thing?
It’s on the list. I may do a special post on it, or just hit on it as I review the books.
