Dzur. the latest Vlad Taltos book by Steven Brust, arrived in the mail today.
I’m not even through the first chapter and I’m giddy with excitement. This is (even counting the horribly depressing and uncomfortable middle volumes) one of Favorite Book Series Evah.
Not sure when SciFi got into the publishing act (it’s actually a Tor imprint), but, well … glee!
An excellent book.
Didn’t appreciate the gourmet sections as much as I might have. Kept getting hungry and there’s like one, inconveniently located Hungarian restaurant in the metro area.
A what?!? Okay, now I msut go.
Ok, sounds like we need to make a run to the Hungarian place some time. 🙂
Where is it Randy?

South Pearl Street.
1-25 to Evans, West to Pearl, north to 1585.
I’m game.
Seems like there’s supposed to be some German joint with some Hungarian food in the Springs too.
Ahh…
Randy posted the Info before I could post it up after having looked it up. ;P
Pearl and Iowa for cross streets.
Can’t say as Hungarian food is at the top of my list — but I don’t know that I’ve eaten enough to be able to say, so …
Do they serve “hotscakes”?
The whole SkiiiFiii thing came out sometime early this year or late last year. They’ve imprinted a bunch of Tor Books with it, some good (a Fred Pohl collection), some so-so (a Cory Doctorow novel) and some downright poor. Don’t really know if it is worth it for Tor, seeing that most viewers of the SkiiiFiii Channel wouldn’t know literary SF even if it bit them on the posterior.
Well, all the comments on the web look favorable. I’m interested in the goulash, chicken paprikas and csardas.
It isn’t Valabar’s but I probably couldn’t afford Valabar’s.
Wonder if there’s a real world restaurant that inspired Valabar’s.
I’ll confess that a lot of Valabar’s menu would not be the top of my list, though the dining *experience* sounds faboo. 🙂
