The BBC has formally premiered the series Torchwood, a “grown-up” sexy urban SF spin-off of Doctor Who. The ties to DW are numerous, from the starring role of Captain Jack (renegade time agent / con man from Series 1, as well as multiple references to the Torchwood Institute in the current series. The show looks and sounds interesting,
and, if it succeeds in the UK, I trust SciFi (or maybe even BBC America) will pick it up over here.
(*sigh* And I’m probably the last person who realized that the title of the spin-off is an anagram of the parent series.)
