In beautiful Gallup, NM (and the Carl’s Jr. therein).

UPDATE: We decided the delay in game of stopping was outweighed by the advantages of getting out of the car for more than a few minutes after several hours.

  1. Oh, I get it Avo.

Dave keeps trying to prove that Carl’s Jr’s exist as something other than a really bad food place in a gas station. Which is how they exist in Colorado…emphasis on the really-bad-in-a-gas-station part. I have gotten stuff from one and it was god awful…not at all like they show on TV.

Currently Carl’s Jr. ranks below McDonalds and Taco Bell and Taco Johns for the only if I am Starving catagory. ;P

Basically it was an incredibly bad Idea on Carl’s Jr’s part to do it as a marketing scheme…while they may get Cali Ex-pats, everyone else in Colorado will avoid them like the plague…or…if they have eaten at one will avoid Carl’s Jr’s like Ebola. ;P

  2. Ah. CJ has always had good food in CA. Char-broiled burgers and excellent criss-cut fries.

I still remember my first visit. Dave and Betty (my now-ex-wife) took me there for my birthday, excited because “they bring the food to your table!” I was skeptical (as always), but was pleasantly surprised (one of the benefits of being a pessimist).

In Cali, we had several in every city. In WA, the nearest one is in Tacoma, 60 miles away! :p
