Got to the airport with no trouble, nibbled on some lunch, and was at the gate in plenty of time — to be told that, “Well, we’ll be reaching a decision point in half an hour to decide if the plane, which has some service issues, will be delayed, replaced with another aircraft, or if we’ll be canceling the flight.” Eek.
Meanwhile, I’m seeing mechanics and a suit standing in front of one of the engines of the jet, gesturing in various fashions. Doesn’t look proming.
More like 45 minutes later, they do finally announce that they’re replacing the plane (whew!), which will be taking off in another hour or so. Which is annoying, but a lot less so than if the flight were canceled.
Aside from that, no worries. Got into LAX with no further problems, and drove through rush hour traffic up to Valencia with no worries. Aside from the oddity of the cardkey computer being down here at the Hilton (meaning we basically needed to be escorted to our rooms by staff), all’s well.
Meetings begin tomorrow. I have the first presentation. Wish me luck!
