Feel the burn!

Today in Denver?  93. Tomorrow?  96. Tuesday?  96. Makes me long for Santa Fe … where it’s only in the low 90s this week.  Yeesh….

  1. See? See why I moved to Washington?

    High today: 74.
    Tomorrow: 70.
    Tuesday: 75.

Wednesday and Thursday will be a (relatively) blistering 81.

  2. See, everyone thinks of Denver as being “on top of a frippin’ mountain or something,” whereas we are really on the high plains (with the mountains starting where the city more or less ends).

So think flat and sere (though, yes, closer to the sun, which largely makes the most difference regarding uV protection).

That all said — I’d rather than then be on reclaimed swampland, so … 🙂

  3. On my start page, I have a display of the daily weather reports for my current location in Washington, my old stomping grounds in semi-arid So Cal, and Dave’s region. I’m always gratified to see that we don’t have anything like the huge temperature range he has in Colorado. No single- or triple-digit temps here, thank you very much!

Though it is weird having the sun set after 9PM. It must have been that way when I was a little kid in North Dakota, but I don’t remember it.

  4. We do have large temp changes, even in a given day, which is good, since it means it almost always cools off in the evening, regardless of the daytime temps.

And, honestly, we rarely have either single digits or triple digits (2, 3 days a year each). Though we’re going to be pushing the latter tomorrow.
