Yesterday was one of those annual milestone days — two of them, in fact.
- It was the start of the “just because it’s sunny out doesn’t mean you won’t be uncomfortably cold in your shirt sleeves” season.
- We got the sprinklers blown for the year.
And, right on schedule, talk of snow on Sunday.
Time to start digging out the jackets.
You know, we don’t have a sprinkler system. But I am like, “VICTORY!” when I hear that somebody got their sprinklers blown out before they exploded.
And it made a good science lesson for Kitten, too.
It remains, though, still a wonder to me. Growing up in California, the idea of having to blow the sprinklers is almost as remarkable as the idea of not having to do any yard work for 4 months a year.
We will not speak of our first ignorant fall in Colorado and the exciting spring that followed.
“Let a thousand sprinkler pipes bloom!”
