So we’re in the middle of a last-gasp winter storm (though Denver’s actually gotten snow all the way into June in the past), and we’ve had so much mountain snowpack this winter that lots of folks are worried about flooding.
And … water restrictions just kicked in for the City of Denver.
- No lawn watering between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
- No overwatering that results in puddles in gutters, streets or alleys.
- No spraying concrete or asphalt.
- Leaky sprinklers must be repaired within 10 days.
- No using spray irrigation during rain or high winds.
- Watering is limited to three days a week, although there are no assigned days
Actually, this will affect us, too, since our water district gets its water from Denver.
Not that it actually bothers me — whether we need it or not, those water restrictions are reasonable in the face of ever-tightening water supplies in the future. But it was just sort of a funny coincidence …
