So Saturday night we had the first Margie Gras at the house in a while. MG’s mission statement is to have a lot of fun drinking lots of interesting things, and nobody has to worry about making it home for the night because we have plenty of beds.

Perforce, that makes it a limited group, since while we do have plenty of places for people to doss down, it’s not unlimited, and some are less ideal than others. Ultimately we ended up with Stan, Bruce, Randy, Lee & De, Jackie, and Doyce & Kate. Rachel and Kaylee were both there to run about with Kitten.

After various surveys of the attendees, the “theme” for this MG was “Labor Day — Drinks that take extra effort, but are worth it.” Roughly speaking, I enouraged everyone to come with drink recipes that would take at least four ingredients, and if there was something extra about the prep, cool.

Lots of good stuff ensued. I found one particularly good drink, a Jamaican Breeze. Other people brought fixings for lots of other good stuff. Meanwhile, Margie made lots of faboo feed — lamb, pitas and hummus, chicken, etc.

In the end, Lee & De (and Rachel), and Stan, and Bruce all camped out for the night — and the next day we all woke up to yet more of the yummy coffee that Le & De had brought.

Good time had by all, and having Sunday and Monday to recover was just what we needed. 🙂
