I tend not to watch Daily Show clips that folks post because — well, I usually watch it a day or two later myself on the DVR. (Sorry, BD.)
So I’m probably the last person to have watched this who was likely to. But … damn, that’s funny.
Yeah, the Infomercial bits are spit-take funny, but watching Sean Hannity not just lobbing big, fuzzy beach balls to Palin, but lobbing them, running around the table, and catching them for her, was worth the price of admission.
In fact, if I were Sarah Palin, I’d be downright insulted by Hannity’s interview questions. “Jeez, Sean, I realize I have no experience on the national scene, but I’ve actually talked with journalists before. Don’t treat me like I’m actually the idiot the Dems paint me to be.”
LOL! I listen to this stuff with headphones on, so bursts of laughter just look weird…
It reminded me of the hard-hitting interview that Laura Bush received on the Fair’N Balanced™ O’Reilly Show. No monarch ever received such deference from her subjects. “When people say these awful things about your husband, is that hard for you?”
Yes, but, you see, Laura is the first lady. She serves as a ceremonial adjunct to the office, and should be treated with politeness and deference (if nothing else because it doesn’t matter).
Gov. Palin is looking to be a leader, someone to be elected, a wielder of power both executive and legislative, and someone who will be playing hardball politics with politicians both domestic and foreign — if she can’t handle that role, then we need to know it *now*.
I didn’t realise that suggesting your opponent was wrong about the economy was somehow cheating during an election. Lieing about him yes, questioning the credentials of a man who- in the middle of a massive stock market crash, where taxpayers are giving idiot bankers money- suggests that everything is just peachy is probably legitimate debate. But what do I know, I’m a dangerously liberal European.
What US TV needs is a Paxman http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sCo7qbzEX3c

NP Dave. 🙂
See, some of us have cable *and* a DVR and can do this sort of thing. =P
