I think it’s fantastic that you did this with your daughter. My kids, husband, and I kept up on things running three computers and watching all the news we could handle.
In the end, I think things turned out the way they needed to.

What a great way to track the results!
My wife let my oldest boy stay up and watch the results come in until the race was called for Obama, he filled in a map with markers for school.
I spent the night playing D&D . . . I think I might have flipped out waiting for results, so game night was a great way to get away from the media for a few hours!
Margie hugged the computer and I flipped between news stations. Katherine would quickly update the candy map as results came in, until she went to bed (which was not long after Ohio was declared, which was basically it).
