So with my folks in Colorado, of course we’re paying attention to news from California — in particular the Santa Barbara “Tea” Fire (which is getting quite close both to the ancestral home on De La Guerra Terrace and to the homes of various relatives), and the Sylmar Fire (which has closed I-5 by the 210 and Antelope Highway).
The Weather Channel, of all places, does pretty good periodic fire coverage.

There is now a fire at the 91 and Green River Golf Course. The sky is UGLY1

Continuing to watch the map, it appears it’s extending across the foothills, possibly joining up with the Brea fire. Yikes.
It’s not extending any further across the 91, but it does seem to have done a number at Savi Ranch, which is a shopping center we’ve visited many times (for pre- and post-Christmas shopping). It houses (gasp) the Ks’ CostCo.
