So I’ve been doing loads of photos into Flickr — the last two batches, from the Netherlands trip and the first third of the year, are now online — and having fun with it.
And I’ve discovered a new, unexpected bonus: people like my pictures. Well, at least a few of them. So I’ve had a request from a group that collect Metropolitan Museum of Art photos …
Hi, I’m an admin for a group called The Metropolitan Museum of Art. I noticed that you have some fantastic photos of the Met and would love for you to share them in our group.
I mean, how cool is that?
Ditto requests for groups on Julio-Claudian Art, Roman Portraiture, and Coins, McDonald’s Storefronts, Abstract Scaffolding, and Historic Masonic Buildings Worldwide. Crazy.
The neat thing is, the request shows for the photo, I get notification, can click on it easily, and then the sharing shows up on the photo’s page so I can see what else the group is doing. Spiffy stuff.
Photos online — they’re not just to bore your family and friends any more!
