My folks came down to the Ks for dinner last night. It is a special blessing in our lives that our respective ‘rents (a) live within a half hour of each other and (b) like each other. We don’t have to do any of the “oh, whose house will we do what at this holiday season” sort of drama, fearing that someone will be Highly Offended. It’s very nice.
Today was kind of lazy day in the morning. In the afternoon we went off to the Getty Villa, the former site of the Getty Museum (as a whole) and present site of the Getty Museum’s antiquities collection, housed in a recreation of a Roman villa on in the Malibu hills. Very lovely space, and a remarkable museum. Well worth it if one has any interest in Greek or Roman art.

Michelle, Jim & Di, and I went last April and had a great time. I have to not let so much time go by before I return to the Getty Villa. I loved that they opened up the windows upstairs and let in the natural light.
