So, post-Twelfth Night, we had our Thirteenth Day gaming get-together, designed both for fun and to consume leftovers. Both goals were achieved.
I slept in until about 10, Margie until 11. We did lounge about after that, then got dressed and ready for folks to show around 1.
Medium-sized group this year — Jackie, Stan, Randy, Bruce, Tim and his wife Kim, plus Margie and me … and Katherine, who joined with us in pretty much all of the games, which was fun.
We had Cataan, Power Grid, Pit, Taboo, and Scream Machine.
We also had leftover hors d’oeuvres, leftover meatballs (note for next year: Costco turkey meatballs are too large and too soft, especially when not baked first, for the crock pot), leftover antipasto, leftover cookies, leftover everything, plus beers and ciders and glögg. And much of all that was, in fact, consumed. Huzzah!
The party was over by about 7, which was just right for Kitten to get to bed for her MLK Ski Trip, and us to decompress from a long, enjoyable weekend.
