  1. As to the Susan Boyle things: You have at least watched one ep of American Idle, right? It’s like hours of pain and then there may be one almost good singer. Susan Boyle would be like havinf a ringer in there when the judges and the audience were expecting more crap becuase that is how the show is set up….so, I am thinking the article is a bit off target since the game is framed that way from the get go.

  2. @BD: Re Susan Boyle — no, I’ve not watch any “American Idol” (though I know what it’s about; I simply have other things to do with my life).

    I found the clip really cool on her, less so on the judges (who seemed to give phony and flash a new name), and the less said about the audience, the better.

    Not that I expect it to make any difference in the world of music.

    @Paul: But they’d be *our* kind of religious nuts, not furriner religious nuts. They’d kill the immoral for Christ, not Allah … which makes all the difference the world, of course, except perhaps for the “immoral.”
