Links (most recent first) that caught my eye, but did not warrant full-blown blog entries ….
- Sign Generators – Preview Images (Thumbnails) List – Flagged for future use …
- Futurama voices to be recast? | SCI FI Wire – Wow. That seems … unwise.
- Gates: Future Jet Supporters are Risking Today’s Troops | Danger Room | Wired.com – A problem that afflicts both parties. Nobody, of course, ever lost any votes by keeping defense industry jobs in their district.
- Orlando Sentinel – New Fantasyland or just plain fantasy? Look at (alleged) plans starring plenty of princesses by – More on the Fantasyland plans (?) at Walt Disney World.
- Why Is Spam Around? Because 12% Of Readers Actually Try To Buy The Stuff [Spam] – You can fool some of the people, it appears, some of the time.
- Squirrely Physics [Built on Facts] – Don’t think I’ve ever seen this behavior, though there is no shortage of squirrels in the area.
- Turnabout is fair play – Oh, my. This is perfect.
- What is in the water on C Street?
- Magic Kingdom Fantasyland Expansion Plans Leaked – I really dislike the Meet-n-Greet concept, and this only further institutionalizes it. On the other hand, my daughter loves it.
- Tom Baker Dons His Endless Scarf Once Again [Doctor Who] – Very cool.
- Torchwood Will Air Uncut On BBC America [Torchwood] – Glee! And, yes, already set up on the DVR …
- The Debate Over Unscientific America – An interesting article. That said, the author doesn’t see the distinction between the “other” he knows (Bob) and the “other” he doesn’t (the lynching mobs at church). That Bob doesn’t leap over the table and try to strangle him is evidence that there is a workable (if uncomfortable) “middle ground,” and that trying to set “you’re either with us or against us” dichotomies by either side only hardens the battle lines and drives folks in that middle to one side or the other.
- Google and the Conspiracy of the Triforce Doodles – I’m holding out for the Tri-Lateral Commission, personally. But I can’t wait for the religious conspiracy nuts to run wild with this one.
- How to Buy a Mattress – A good article, but I think the best note is: “Keep in mind that over 10 years a $2,000 bed is only like $15 per month, and you spend 1/3 of your life in bed, so it is probably the best “value” of anything you purchase.” There is little worth as much as a good night’s sleep, and investing to make that happen is very worthwhile.
- HOWTO bake dashboard cookies while you’re working – On the plus side, reducing home appliance costs and the heat from the oven during the summer. On the minus side, a good chance that no cookies will actually make it home with you.
- Games Crafter: one site to design, manufacture and sell your tabletop game – This is awesome.
- Winning the War On Fish – Yes, that introductory quote is very, very telling. And yet I’m sure that the good Senator inveighs mightily against “the culture of entitlement.” I laugh so that I do not cry.
- Identity Theft Hysteria Overblown, Watch Your Debit Card Instead [Interviews] – Some good advice here on what to worry about, and why.

Note to self – this post had the blank sign generator in it that Kate / Ktbuffy was looking for. Flagged with all these key words for future reference so that I can find it again.
