Our Useless Media

As BD would call it. Jon Stewart demonstrates:

The media has become so cowed by partisan attacks (mostly, but not solely, from the Right), that they have decided to abrogate their responsibility to not just report facts, but to evaluate and check those facts. That some pol, or consultant, or spokescritter can basically say whatever they want, and the TV news host just nods and says, “Well, thank your for being with us, Senator,” basically makes the networks an advertising bureau.

The exception, of course, is Fox News, which has decided that the only message to pound out is the Right’s message. I may despise them for it, but I have to respect that at least they are critical of what is being said on their network, rather than simply being an echo chamber for whomever grabs the mic.
